Inbreeding constitutes any relative animals mixing together. Linebreeding is a form of inbreeding where dogs might be related distantly, but breeding takes place anyway. The cons considerably outweigh the pros, making this practice inefficient and detrimental. Understandably, early breed development required some level of inbreeding, although there is no use for it now. Inbreeding is the mating together of closely related dogs, for example mother/son, father/daughter and sibling/sibling matings.
